Product Update, March 2007
A new software version 1.08 has been released for SSD Ultra320 SCSI 3.5" (formerly known as FFD
3.5" Ultra320 SCSI). This version replaces the current software version 1.07. The new software
version offers the following improvements and changes:
Support for the SLC NAND flash components that are manufactured using the 60 nm
process, now commonly available in today’s market.
Improve the support for the IREC (IRIG) 106, Chapter 10 requirement.
Better compatibility with various SCSI hosts.
No support for Wide DT Fast-40 and ST Fast-40 (80 MB/sec) SCSI Modes.
The following are the supported SCSI Modes:
Asynchronous mode
DT/PT modes
Wide PT Fast-160 (Ultra320 – 320 MB/sec)
Wide DT Fast-80 (Ultra160 – 160 MB/sec)
Wide DT Fast-20 (40 MB/sec)
Wide DT Fast-10 (20 MB/sec)
ST modes
Fast-20 (40 MB/sec)
Fast-10 (20 MB/sec)
Fast-5 (10 MB/sec)
There is no change in the product specification for the SSD Ultra320 SCSI 3.5” 80-pin and 68-pin,
except for the supported SCSI modes change.
Reason for Change
As flash components manufactured with the new 60 nm process have become more widely available in
the market today, flash components manufactured with the older processes are being phased out of
the market, and as a result are subject to lower availability.
Availability
The SSD Ultra320 SCSI 3.5" and will be manufactured with the new flash process from April 2007.
