Always wear eye protection.
Always operate vehicle in a ventilated area.
Always keep people, tools, and test equipment away from moving and hot engine parts.
Always make sure vehicle is in Park (automatic transmission) or Neutral (manual transmission) and parking brake is set.
Always block drive wheels on vehicle.
Always keep a fire extinguisher for gasoline/electrical/chemical fires near by.
Always turn ignition key OFF when connecting or disconnecting electrical components, unless otherwise instructed.
Always keep away from vehicle fans.
Always follow vehicle manufacturers warnings, cautions, and service procedures.
Never lay tools on vehicle battery.
Never smoke or have open flames near vehicle.
Never leave vehicle unattended while running tests.
USING STARTER SWITCH
The Heavy Duty Starter Switch With Hot Circuit Indicator Light is used to remotely operate starter on vehicles equipped
with a starter solenoid. The Starter Switch has an added feature of a red light that glows when the starter switch is
connected to a hot circuit and goes out when the button is pressed. This is a helpful indicator that tells when the Starter
Switch is ready to use.
1. Place vehicle in Park (automatic transmission) or Neutral (manual transmission), set parking brake and block drive
wheels.
To avoid damage to ignition system circuits or other circuits related to or connected to ignition
wiring, follow all vehicle service manual instructions for disabling ignition system.

CAUTION
2. Follow vehicle service manual to disable ignition system.
Use EXTREME CAUTION when connecting starter switch. Battery voltage is present at
solenoid or relay and damage or injury can occur from shorting the leads.

CAUTION
Follow all vehicle service manual instructions on how and where to connect Remote Starter
Switch. ONLY connect Starter Switch to starter relay or solenoid. If switch is connected
improperly, wires may become warm. If wires become warm, do not continue to push start
button, as damage to Starter Switch may occur.
3. Connect Starter Switch as stated in vehicle service manual.
4. Turn vehicle ignition switch to the ON position.
MAKE SURE HANDS AND STARTER SWITCH WIRES ARE AWAY FROM ALL BELTS AND
FANS.

5. Press START button on Starter Switch to crank engine.
After disconnecting Starter Switch, reconnect all leads and connectors that were disconnected to disable
the ignition system.
